Problem: Sensor not reading latch

Solution: Adjust the lid latch position. Ensure it is pointing at 12 o’clock or 11:59 when the lid is fully opened.

Recommendation: When replacing the timer, also replace the knob and label for proper functionality.

Cause: Tubes or tube shields may not have equal weight.

Solution: Remove and reinsert tubes, ensuring equal weight distribution before re-spinning.

Problem: Power button not lighting up (red)

Solution: If the unit still spins, the power switch light is out. If the unit does not spin, refer to the next steps.

Problem: Unit spins but does not reach full speed

Cause: Motor is faulty.

Solution: Replace the motor.

Problem: Unit spins and then stops

Cause: IR sensor (speed sensor) is bad.

Solution: Replace the IR Sensor (#101070).

Possible Causes & Solutions:

  1. Lid latch misalignment – Adjust lid latch position to 12 o’clock or 11:59.

  2. Blown fuse on board – Check and replace if necessary.

  3. Lid sensor failure – Replace the lid sensor.

Check the following:

  • Speed wheel for cracks

  • Motor shaft for corrosion

Solution: If the power jack and adapter need replacement, use Part #100449. If replacing an old beige E8 power adapter, use E8P-ADWL-12V8.
